Malcomb
Baldridge Award | The Malcolm Baldrige
National Quality Improvement Act of 1987 was signed by
President Reagan on August 20, 1987. The Act establishes an
annual U.S. National Quality Award. Its purpose is to promote
quality awareness and to publicize successful quality
strategies. The Secretary of Commerce and the National
Institute of Standards and Technology (formerly the National
Bureau of Standards) provide the leadership and management,
and the private sector provides the administration, the
examiners, oversight, and funding of the Award Program. |
